Department of Religious and Theological Studies

The Department of Religious and Theological Studies pursues a path in which religious faith and critical thinking are mutually enlightening. You'll sample both the more broadly religious and more specifically theological courses offered, and a variety of focus areas helps you choose a path of study that is appropriate for your interests and needs.

We offer a versatile liberal arts degree that is valuable in multiple contexts. Some graduates pursue further study in religion, business, history or law, while others enter directly into the working world in church-related contexts, social services, education or corporate life.

In an age when the direction of our culture is all about data, efficiency, celebrity and power, we offer students a chance to reflect on spirituality, relationships, community and life's deeper meanings. Our program offers breadth as well as depth, exploring the world's great religious traditions, while offering opportunities to dig deeply into spiritual ideas, symbols and practices.
